Panoramic photographic, also known as wide format photography, has gained popularity in its ingenuity in presenting the image. It utilizes special equipment or software in seizing images in vertical or horizontal positions. So realistic is the presentation of panoramic photography that it seems to replace painting in designing wide scenery.
What are considered panoramic?

  • Images presenting aerial views which are approximately or greater than what the human eye can see which will be about 160o by 75o.
  • Resolution images that are widely structured.
  • Images that are bearing a ratio of 4:1 or 10:1 with extended field view up to 360o.
  • Ratios and coverage are important in determining a panoramic image.
    Vertical and Horizontal Sequences:
Vertical or horizontal sequences are made possible by photo sticking or image stitching. The images of photos with overlapping fields of views are combined to create a continuous panorama or higher resolute images.
The vertical sequence is from right to left or left to right. These are used to capture panoramic or wide view of landscapes.
The horizontal sequence goes from top to bottom or bottom to top. These create a vertical subject as that or a tower or waterfalls
    Essential equipment for panoramic photography:

  • A tripod is the equipment you have to use in this genre.
  • A tripod head design has these functions
  • -
    1. For mounting your camera so it turns around making the nodal point the optical center of the camera.
    2. For built in levels to help steady your camera.
    3. For marking index or degree so you can turn camera correctly for your best shot.
There are different formats to display your panoramic masterpieces:

  • Printing it like a still image to be displayed in any popular file.
  • Web display as a photograph in any web but you can also do it in such as way that spectators with browsers can zoom in.
  • Panoramic photographer, just like a painter, satisfies artistic creativity by displaying beautiful masterpieces.
