Ideal Places to Stay in the Peak District: the Holiday Cottage

Filed under: Travel Stuff — admin @ 1:51 am

The Peak District is an ideal getaway from the strains of city day to day life. If you come from Sheffield or Manchester, it’s reachable within an hour by train or car and a wonderful selection for a weekend break. If you’re travelling from further away, we advise you stay 5 or 6 days as there’s lots to get up to in the Peak area.

Many holiday makers associate the Peak District with summer holidays, but it’s picturesque the entire year, and in no other area of the UK are the four seasons more emphasised than in the Peak area.

As mentioned earlier, there is much to do in the Peak District. The idyllic scenes compel people out of their hotels and onto long walks, and there’s much of rambling to do - up to 30 well tramped walks.

There’s also a good deal of locations to go fishing in and around the Peak District, particularly the Ladybower reservoir. If you’re not into physical activities, drive the car and visit Chatsworth House. At least a few hours at the house is recommended, the garden area in itself you can spend an hour or two in! Or try Buxton for lunch and a stroll in the pavilion gardens, or the opera. Not to forget the Castleton and Hathersage in the Hope Valley which are beautiful and well worth the visit.

How can one find a place to stay in the Peak District? We advocate hiring a holiday cottage in the Peak District. Cottages are fantastic in that they ensure you have the privacy of your own space, and the chance to relax with your family in a cozy surrounding. The best method to find accommodation is to use a search engine. Key in a search keyphrase such as “weekend breaks in the Peak District” and one is sure to locate a good deal of potential accommodation choices.
