You have in front of you two buttons, one is green the other is black. The green button represents peace and love, the black button represents war and hate and you were put in charge of choosing what the rest of humanity will experience on earth. Which one will you choose and why?
New Age authors write that the thoughts of only a few can change the circumstances of the world.
Over twenty five years ago I was taught Transcendental Meditation and during that course we learned that critical mass (the minimum number of people that can sustain a major change) would come when only one percent of the world’s population learned to meditate. We understood that this small group of individuals had the power to change the outcome of the world’s circumstances.
In the book Edgar Cayce’s Millennium Prophecies by Mark Thurston, PhD., Mark suggests that only a few hundred people could achieve critical mass and this would cause the world to experience a quantum change, in other words the thoughts of only a few souls being in tune or harmony with God can bring peace and love to the world. As these souls raise their vibrational levels, others will automatically raise theirs by proximity as a single virus introduced into a cell can affect the whole body.
I would like to go all the way and say that I believe (know) that it would take only one soul in harmony with God (creator) to change the world.
For as many souls that we now have on this planet approximately 6 billion, there are also 6 billion different worlds existing in the same time and space. Each of us is experiencing and creating the circumstances of our existence in these physical worlds. To say less of us is to say less of the creator and it would suggest that we do not have unconditional love to experience unconditional freedom. The world exists only in our minds and we each choose individually how we are going to experience it. Thought, word and deed brings into physical manifestation which we want to experience.
We are all connected to the power that creates the world we wish to experience. Everything that is physical is drawn to us so that we can create our own world. It is not so for fetched if we consider that we live in an illusion, physical material is the densest form of light and is a projection of our own thoughts. We agree on certain things at a subconscious level of thought because the illusion is shared between souls, we assume consciously that we are experiencing the same world as one.
Peace cannot be experienced by trying to bring peace to the world. It can only be experienced by knowing that there is already peace. The road to peace starts in your own world, the one that you are creating. In all that you know, you must know peace first in order to experience it. Peace must be your experience; you cannot know peace while you are experiencing war or while you are fighting for peace. You cannot love while you hate and you cannot be for peace while you are against war. No war can be about peace. War is at the opposite end of the two ended stick; to know love you must move towards love and away from war. War simply means that there is less peace, in truth love is all there is.
In all that you do, you must do it peacefully. Create peace in your mind and you shall experience it in physical life. What you give away comes back to you, and what you hold onto you lose. Give away peace and you will always experience peace.
Do not try to change the worlds of others, but strive to experience what it is you desire for your world simply by thinking about it, speaking it and experiencing it. Give power to that which you are creating, not that which you do not want to create and the fastest way to experience peace is to know that you already have it. Faith, hope, trust and wishful thinking are steps to knowing that you are moving towards peace and that you do not have it yet. It also removes the responsibility from you for creating it.
You must always know that you have the power within self to create what you desire. You must know that it is you that is creating peace because you have the connection to the universal power and the creator responds to your demands, and finally you must know that you are the creator in individualized physical form. You are reacting to your own thoughts about what it is that you want to experience. You have both the thought and the power to experience peace. You are the “this and that,” the “ying and the yang,” “the giver and the taker,” “the peace lover and the war monger.” Choose what it is that you want to experience in this wonderful playground that you are creating.
You are the Captain this is your ship, you are the creator and the created. If it is peace that you want to experience, create peace in your life. If it is trying to move a warring world towards peace that you are experiencing, then that is what you have created, and you will never experience peace. Know that it is absolutely appropriate for other worlds to be at war given that we have absolute unconditional love to create our worlds as we see fit. To the level of awareness that we have that war does not work for us, will be the level of peace that we experience. As long as we believe that war works for us, we shall experience it.
If you are wishing for a peaceful world, then that is what you will experience. If you have hope for a peaceful world, that is all you will experience. If you trust that man or God will bring peace to the world eventually, that is what you will experience and that will always happen in the future, you will never experience peace now.
Peace comes now, to those that know they have it. Forget about the rest of the world, it’s not going to happen. Experience peace in your mind and your world will reflect that thought. Experience is a thought manifested, you are never a victim of circumstance you are creating it.
To the degree that you know that you have the power to change will be the degree that you will experience change. If you limit your power, you will limit your experience. If you are waiting for change you will always experience waiting for change.
If what I have written is not part of your philosophy you will probably already have a very good understanding of way you feel powerless to change your world. You have no power if you do not claim it. It is you the reader that does not experience peace because you do not know it and you are still searching for peace that is why you are reading this.
Peace is always an individual choice, simply choose to experience it and know that peace is what you represent.
If peace is simply a matter of pushing the correct button, what thoughts are holding you back? There-in is the truth that you seek, the answer to peace.

In order to win the presidency in America, candidates must stir up the religious fervor of the voters (gay marriage/civil union) and then vocally (and in some cases visually) wear your (new) Evangelical beliefs on your sleeve. It used to be candidate vs. candidate, then party vs. party, big business vs. the common (wo)man, platform vs. platform, then region vs. region, but now none of that matters as a new America has emerged, an America in which the majority with a religious manifest rules the minority with a secular agenda.
Throughout the centuries, most of the wars have been based on religion, something all people realize to be true. Iraq is divided into a power struggle of three religious factions; the same in the former Yugoslavia; the annihilation of the Jewish people in Germany; African genocide, and let’s not forget the last 800 years in England and Ireland, to name but a few. The same thing is beginning to happen in America. We are so split between our ideals and beliefs - and religion is winning! Separation of church and state is being debated more and more often. Soon, if you’re not like everyone else, religion’s minorities will be faced with fear and uncertainty as history has proved throughout time. Proselytization will become rampant, with people converting so as to be in the majority. Missionaries will be like door to door sales(wo)men spreading their word that they are the true defenders of ‘the American Way.’
The First Amendment of the Constitution is just words. However, the actions to support it without question are what make it alive with meaning. With the division we now have in America, will it still be supported? Or will it be changed little by little by a soon-to-be lopsided, right-wing Supreme Court. No one knows, but many are fearful of what may happen, especially after last night’s surprising, or not-so-surprising, main issue.
In the presidential election of 2004, 82% of the voters said that their main concern was moral (religious) beliefs. That was more than the economy, education, the environment, terrorism, energy, and the war in Iraq. It was the number one concern in America; the basis of most people’s decision on who gets their vote. Does that make any sense when our country is filled with so many more pressing ills right now? However, in reference to it, and give it its due process, one must ask: Whatever happened to ‘live and let live?’ Whatever happened to tolerance? Whatever happened to ‘love thy brother?’ What has happened to America, the land of the free to live our lives as free, consenting adults and pursue our forefathers’ foresighted decree of ’separation of church and state?’
Ask yourself: Why do I have to swear on the Bible in court when the Ten Commandments cannot be displayed in a federal building?
What will happen next? Only time, and the actions of our President, will tell.

An American soldier is taken behind enemy lines and brainwashed as an unwitting assassin by communists in league with American political figures. This soldier then returns to the States to kill a presidential candidate as part of a political scheme to escalate and exploit Cold War tensions.
Sound familiar? It does if you’ve seen the classic movie “The Manchurian Candidate.”
Now consider this modified scenario: An American soldier is first brainwashed as an assassin and to behave as a communist by agents of his own government, then sent behind enemy lines as a defector, only to return to the States and assassinate an American president.
But this is no movie plot. Years of research have convinced me this is exactly what happened in the assassination of John F. Kennedy in 1963.
Before you dismiss this as yet another JFK conspiracy theory, look at how much it explains in light of what we’ve learned about the CIA’s skillful use of mind control and fake defectors over years of anti-communist operations.
* In a program known as MKULTRA, the CIA spent billions of dollars secretly perfecting mind control technology. Brutal methods of eliciting confessions from captured enemy agents (electric shock, sensory deprivation, hypnosis and truth drugs such as LSD) were developed on hundreds of unwitting victims. Used operationally for many years, this counterintelligence technology is now coming to light in the Abu Ghraib prison-torture scandal.
* In addition to “defensive” techniques, CIA researchers sought to develop countermeasures against human weaknesses identified by the MKULTRA tests to create “torture-proof” American agents who could be sent into enemy territory on intelligence missions or be used to infiltrate enemy organizations as convincing double-agents and provocateurs.
* But the CIA didn’t stop here. They also developed methods to brainwash so-called “involuntary assassins” who would not question orders to kill on command in Cold War operations. According to declassified government documents published by the New York Times, such agents would carry out actions “even against such fundamental laws of nature as self-preservation.”
Indeed, a CIA memo (NYT, 1978) describing an experiment using “involuntary assassins written before the JFK assassination predicted the details surrounding the crime with eerie precision. According to the declassified memo from the 1950s, as a “trigger mechanism” for a “bigger project” a defector would be manipulated to kill an American official under the influence of CIA mind control and then be “disposed of” after being taken into custody for the crime. Flash forward a few years to 1963. A defector (Oswald) kills an American official (Kennedy) and is then “disposed of” in police custody (by Jack Ruby). The “trigger mechanism” (death of a president) clears the way to a “bigger project”: escalation of the Cold War on an unprecedented scale.
The parallels are striking. But is there supporting evidence for the scenario of Oswald being unwittingly manipulated as an intelligence pawn in a similar operation?
Declassified memos and investigative reporting by various sources have taught us a great deal over the past 40 years of how involuntary operatives could be cleverly “programmed” by the CIA as apparent communist sympathizers to infiltrate and disrupt communist organizations. (We now know that during the 1960s scores of phony leftists were used by the CIA and FBI to infiltrate and discredit organizations through violent behavior in infamous programs such as COINTELPRO.) We have also learned how supposed “lone-nut” Lee Harvey Oswald’s seemingly irrational behavior actually complemented such espionage programs:
* His defection to the Soviet Union was secretly handled by the CIA as a counterintelligence mission and mirrored an elaborately staged defection involving another low-level American soldier (with a similar background) that began the very same year Oswald’s did.
* Following his return to the U.S., Oswald leveraged his defector credentials to play the role of pro-Castro activist while constantly surrounded by anti-communists with links to the intelligence world.
– His best friend in Dallas was a wealthy White Russian with ties to the CIA and the address of future CIA Director George Bush in his wallet.
– After moving to New Orleans, Oswald formed an unauthorized chapter of a Castro-friendly group targeted by the CIA and handed out pro-Castro leaflets printed with the office address of an FBI anti-communist expert.
– Future “lone-nut assassin” and pro-Castro activist Oswald even met with one of the CIA’s anti-Castro assassins in New Orleans, while under both CIA and FBI surveillance (NYT, 1993).
* Oswald’s supposed pro-communist behavior fit the profile of a hypnotized anti-Communist infiltrator as detailed in declassified documents from his era. Military hypnotist George Estabrooks even bragged of carrying out an operation employing a brainwashed Marine who was hypno-programmed with a pro-communist personality so he could be prematurely discharged from the service as a fake defector and then used in an anti-communist intelligence operation. Further, he claimed his hypnosis technique had been used to create assassins.
The more I study Oswald’s infamous career, the more I am struck by how his otherwise puzzling bipolar antics make perfect sense within a now well-established CIA pattern of using counterfeit pro-communists in its anti-Communist operations.
But I am also struck by the parallels between the “Manchurian Candidate” hypothesis and Oswald’s use within these espionage operations.
As I reveal in The Perfect Assassin, mind control had many fascinating benefits for creating convincing double agents with unquestioning obedience who could be used in dangerous espionage cases where plausible deniability was critical. Estabrooks described the advantages mind control would provide in creating credible double agents to infiltrate communist organizations. “Convinced of their own innocence they would play the ‘fifth column’ role with utmost sincerity.” And even if such an agent was captured, “He could not tell the truth about his life as a spy, because he would not know of it.”
Declassified documents from the early ’60s detail real-life CIA experiments with this mind control technology that had amazing parallels to incidents in Oswald’s life and the events leading up to the Kennedy assassination. And documents show that the CIA was seriously investigating the use mind control for the anti-Castro assassination operations in which Oswald was involved.
But the theory of Oswald’s being used as a pawn in ongoing anti-communist operations not only explains his activities leading up to the assassination. It explains the reasons behind the assassination itself and therefore helps solve the riddle of who was ultimately behind the crime.
Put yourself in the mindset of the early ’60s, when those entrusted with the nation’s security saw communist infiltration in every dissident group, danger lurking in every shadow. To them, we needed to escalate the Cold War, not step back from it. In their eyes, JFK failed them in the failed Bay of Pigs invasion of Castro’s Cuba. And then he actively resisted aggressive plans and ongoing preparations for a second invasion. Kennedy was even considered a pro-communist traitor by extremists within the intelligence community.
If this scenario sounds outlandish in the post-Cold War world, consider the latest declassified documents that have surfaced from the Kennedy-era. These documents detail a major Cold War operation called Operation Northwoods secretly initiated by the Joint Chiefs of Staff. Memos from this operation, which was rejected by Kennedy, reveal a bold plan to justify a second invasion of Cuba. In one aspect of this plan, the CIA’s anti-Castro agents, disguised as pro-Castro militants, would engage in a series of violent actions, including staged assassinations on American soil. Such covert actions by apparent pro-communists were designed to provoke “a helpful wave of indignation” in the American public that could be channeled to support a more overt and militaristic Cold War crusade.
Now consider the convenience of Oswald’s actions to the covert warriors who not only had plans in place to kill heads of state (like Castro) but also had even discussed using mind control in these ongoing Cold War-era assassination attempts:
By killing JFK in the guise of a pro-Castro agent, Oswald eliminated a roadblock to the CIA’s more militant anti-communist policies (Kennedy had fired the CIA director who oversaw these policies and then served on the Warren Commission), and indeed provided a justification for them!
As the prophetic CIA memo on mind control foreshadowed, JFK’s murder served as the “trigger mechanism” for the “bigger project.” With Kennedy out of the way, thanks to the actions of a “Manchurian Candidate,” the Cold Warriors were free to escalate their mission with unspeakable brutality in Vietnam and elsewhere.
Far-fetched? Not when you sit down and really think about it.

In his personal research he has analyzed the extensive though hidden role American corporations played not only in creating Nazi Germany but in recruiting Nazi war criminals following the war. Jerry documents how this resulted in the continuation of the unethical human experimentation conducted in Nazi concentration camps–including mind control research, which he proposes ultimately led to the assassination of JFK.

It’s been called everything from an accident to something more conspiratorial.
Both views and/or positions are wrong. The shooting of 78-year- old Harry Whittington by Dick Cheney on Saturday showed 3 things.
First, it unveiled the fallback plan by the Administration in the event that Social Security “privatization” fails again.
Take that AARP!
In taking the action, Cheney exhibited the “bottom-line” approach he touted in 2000 by referring to his background as CEO of Halliburton (now a subsidiary of U.S. Taxpayer Inc.)
During his tenure, the only spot on his record was leaving it teetering on the brink of bankruptcy because, as CEO, he bought Drexel during a hunting trip having done no “due diligence”, and leaving Halliburton absorbing Drexel’s asbestos litigation which, as Dana Milbank of the Post reported in 2002, “Investors . . . are betting the liability is $8 billion to $9 billion”.
Note* Watch the progress of the long- stalled, now quickly moving, Asbestos Trust Fund Bill (asbestos “reform” bill) going through Congress. It will become another subsidiary of U.S. Taxpayer Inc. (kind of like the Pension Benefit Guaranty Corporation and some other fancy names for federal entities that step in when corporation “leaders” raid the… never mind).
Second, he showed why it is always important to stay “vigilant”. After all, apparently, the 78- year- old was sneaking up on him. He didn’t announce himself and was dressed in orange camouflage.
Taking into account the facts that:
!) Mr. Whittington managed to penetrate the security surrounding Dick;
2) He had a weapon;
3) He gave no warning;
4) He must have been sufficiently familiar with Western culture that, just like in cowboy movies (which depict places like Wyoming but were shot in Italy- “Linguini Westerns” or some such thing), he apparently knew enough to approach Dick with the sun at his back; and
5) Our security agencies failed to “connect the dots” again as Cheney’s phalanx of Secret Service agents, the CIA, the FBI, the DIA, and the Starship Enterprise all failed to note Mr. Whittington’s ominous “lurking”. All of which proves the point that the NSA should’ve been inside Mr. Whittington’s head- just to be on the safe side.
Lastly, the man is (hopefully- not “was”) a millionaire attorney. This shows how seriously the Administration takes “tort reform”.
While there is a confusion as to the gentleman’s field of specialty in the law, it is unlikely (or not) that he was an attorney that represented the “average person” (low to middle-class).
The fact that he is not dead (allegedly) would seem to indicate that Dick’s cat-like reflexes and knowledge of gun safety allowed him to “pull-up” in time to only hit Mr. Whittington in the chest, shoulders, and face indicating that he may, or may not have been a corporate lawyer. However, it should be noted that Bill Frist was seen behind a tree clapping when Whittington was hit which might indicate that he practiced “video medical malpractice” and/or specialized in suing those who engage in insider- trading.
More likely than not, we’ll all be briefed on the matter by Scott McLellan in a week or so. It would be unfair to ask the Administration’s Press- Secretary to say anything now.
That’s because it usually takes Andy Card a week to put events into DVD form for George Bush to understand.

Numerous poor people who received hip replacement recall applied in their hip replacement surgeries are determining that there are complications that far exceed the conventional expectations for recuperation. These poor people are experiencing a lot of extra pain for longer time periods, needing a revision surgical operations and elevated medical expenses, and losing income by being taken out of the workplace at their regular businesses. Although Zimmer Holdings, Inc. is laying claim that that their implant in no way flawed and have basically denied blame for the faililng hip implants, some patients are filing lawsuits against them and encountering settlements.
In October, 2008 Zimmer announced that it had set aside $47.5 million to pay for lawsuits filed against them. Many docs aren’t so sure that the durom cup hip implant is as good as the company says it is. In Point Of Fact, when Zimmer offered online education to MD’s in order to teach them what they said were more accurate techniques for doing the implant operation, roughly 1/2 of the MD’s refused to take part. Hence, the whole situation continues to be irritating for all parties attached, but none more than the hundreds of poor people who are looking forward to revision surgical operation due to the problems with their implant not staying snug in the socket.
These distressed unfortunate people definitely merit some assistance and compensation which obviously is why product liability attorneys are suggesting and telling them to file lawsuits. artificial hip replacement has been paying some of these claims, too. Still, even if the money they are being offered by all standards seems reasonable, in most cases poor people are resolving too quickly and with no clause put in place for on-going problems in the future. If they don’t wait to find out what an actual case is worth, individuals could find themselves paying thousands of dollars out of their own pocket when more problems start to surface.
For anyone who realizes they probably have a claim against Zimmer should start peering into it. If you believe you may qualify, you can telephone a lawyer to be certain. Look for a firm that covers across the nation and focuses on processing litigation against irregular medical devices. This law firm has done the extra work and setup a special section to uncover the details and handle the claims against Zimmer and secure equitable settlements for their clients.
If your orthopedic surgeon breaks the news that will have to have a revision surgical process to repair your Zimmer Durom hip replacement device, get in touch with an lawyer as soon as possible.

Eh? I can think of scores of reasons to move to Canada (or opt for the Mexican Riviera) . . . any place but Babylon the Great: The USA. The War in Iraq . . . or better yet: The entire Military-Industrial Complex sucking the life-blood out of Americana for starters. Or, how about the whole hedonistic culture of greed, avaricious appetites, and super sizing all things godly and ungodlyfrom Hollywood to Mega Churches; indeed, ours is a “city set on a hill which cannot be hid” but the closer you get to this glittering jewel, the more it resembles the “Little Shop of Horrors,” you know, that flesh-eating plant crying out: Feed me, Seymour! Conspicuous consumption of a nation which spends $1.8 Billion more each day than the whole earth combined and finds herself some $14 Trillion in debt (National Debt + Balance of Payment/Trade Debts) is a bit too much, wouldn’t you say?after all, she represents but 5% of the world’s population.
Come on, half the eagle is in a declared state of emergency and the overt identification by Big Brother of all things human is prepared and/or is itching to pounce upon American liberties once thought sacrosanct by both the ACLU and the NRA by euphemistic legislation called Patriotic Acts, and finally, a cashless society where all of us are implanted with chips awaiting true identity and debit through scanning devices at your local Safeway.
The clock is ticking. Peak oil, where American’s “zero sum game” is played outfor you to gain I must looserefuses to share her bounty with the Asian tigers of China and India; and, of course, they are more than pleased with our indulgence. Like Rome, our legions amongst the world’s “provinces,” are stretched thinand the draft can’t be all that far off if we’re to maintain our economic edge and SUV-lifestyle (latest stats for the past two years show that 58% of all vehicles purchased in the USA are SUVs, pickups, or plain old gas guzzlers). And, as if these outrageous consequences weren’t enough to abandon shiptoss in the worst natural disaster ever to afflict the homeland: Katrina; man, wait till we finance that one!
So . . . isn’t it about time to flee to Canada or head for the Mexican Riviera? Eh? Canada’s a safe haven for pot-people and same-sex marriage is the rage. Crime’s relatively low compared to the lower 48 and the death penalty’s been outlawed for nearly thirty years. Finally, most of the 125,000 Viet-Nam Era draft dodgers who fled to Canada stuck around and now constitute the leading edge of all the above progressive life-style. Wow, we’re talkin’ about socialized medicine for alla veritable paradise compared to the inflictions of them patriots down under. Cheap drugs (includes tons of cannabis), affordable housing, tiny military budget, etc., etc.a little cold, but you’ll get used to it.
Finally, if Hollywood’s collective apoplexy over President Bush’s election can be believedwe’re outta here . . . a few of these righteous indignations (unfulfilled) are duly noted, if for nothing else, their entertainment value. Notwithstanding the Hollywood stars and directors who claimed exodus was their only option under BushBarbra Streisand, Alec Baldwin, Michael Moore, Robert Altman, Lynn Redgrave, Pierre Salinger (now deceased), and Cherall found the allure of Babylon on the Hudson irresistible; so much for leftist vibratos. Misquoted or just plain fluffthey all abide within the walls of the crystal palace celebrating the party atmosphere, as they star in a movie sequel to the “Left Behind Series” entitled: Talk is Cheap, Follow Us.
ECONOMIC INTEGRATION VIA NAFTA, CAFTA, FTAAEnter the “Three Amigos”
Patriots would exclaim we’re selling off and out America; globalists would see dollars galore; socialists would see an on-going rip off; and a whole bunch of people in the middle could care less (a.k.a. “victims anonymous”).
Meanwhile Deanna Spingola in “Building a North American Community” (July 15, 2005) keeps telling it like it is:
“While our sons, daughters, sisters, brothers, mothers and fathers having been spilling their blood in the sands of Iraq under the guise of restoring the country to the Iraqi citizens, our president is in the process of giving our country to the elite One World Order insiders. While our president is requiring protected borders in Iraq, he is obliterating, not only our southern, but our northern borders.”
Actually, Deanna (and you’ve got to read her entire article) is referring to the Bush/Fox/Martin meeting (USA/Mexico/Canada) held at Baylor University in Waco, Texas on 23 March 2005, where they were busy about establishing the “Security and Prosperity Partnership of North America” - to wit, the SPPNA’s troika:
“We, the elected leaders of Canada, Mexico, and the United States, have met in Texas to announce the establishment of the Security and Prosperity Partnership of North America.
“Over the past decade, our three nations have taken important steps to expand economic opportunity for our people and to create the most vibrant and dynamic trade relationship in the world (i.e., NAFTA; my insert). Since September 11 2001, we have also taken significant new steps to address the threat of terrorism and to enhance the security of our people.
“But much still remains to be done. In a rapidly changing world, we must develop new avenues of cooperation that will make our open societies safer and more secure, our businesses more competitive, and our economies more resilient.
“Our Partnership will accomplish these objectives through a trilateral effort to increase the security, prosperity, and quality of life of our citizens. This work will be based on the principle that our security and prosperity are mutually dependent and complementary, and will reflect our shared belief in freedom, economic opportunity, and strong democratic values and institutions. It will also help consolidate our efforts within a North American framework, to meet security and economic challenges, and promote the full potential of our people, by reducing regional disparities and increasing opportunities for all.”
COUNCIL ON FOREIGN RELATIONSThey’re at it again!
Now don’t go conspiratorial on me . . . hee-hee . . . don’t need to . . . let the truth speak for itself:
It was on May 17, 2005 the CFR formalized its “Independent Task Force” to review at length the parameters of such a three-pact agreement among the USA, Canada, and Mexico. This 31-member force de jure was chaired by John F. Manley, Pedro Aspe, and William F. Weld and vice-chaired by: Robert A. Pastor, Thomas P. d’Aquino, Andrés Rozental. Cooperating with the CFR’s efforts were the Canadian Council of Chief Executives and the Consejo Mexicano de Asuntos Internacionales.
Indeed, the composite document released by the aforementioned is the very title of Spingola’s article . . .
No wonder that Spingola and other American patriots view this as the “Great American Give-a-way!”
Take a gander at their timid prognostications and guess why moving to Canada’s a joke . . .for what NAFTA (North American Free Trade Agreement) and CAFTA (Central American Free Trade Agreement) could not destroy, FTAA (Free Trade Area/Agreement of the Americas . . . a.k.a. “Building a North American Community”) fully intends:
“We are asking the leaders of the United States, Mexico, and Canada to be bold and adopt a vision of the future that is bigger than, and beyond, the immediate problems of the present . . . they could be the architects of a new community of North America, not mere custodians of the status quo.” (Canadian co-chair, John P. Manley, Former Canadian Deputy Prime Minister and Minister of Finance).
CHRISTIANS ARE THE MOST VULNERABLE
Now, listen to Spingola’s assessment of all thisand, don’t think she’s some brainless Libertarian gone amok down in Texas somewhere . . .
“This basically means that Americans must give up their freedoms and hard won sovereignty along with all resources for the greater good of the ‘New Community.’ It is a socialistic equalization designed to make slaves of everyone in all three countries. This will occur as a result of the secret, subversive activities of our ruling elitist who have never sacrificed anything except their integrity. When it comes time to sell this socialistic venture, Bush will adopt his multipurpose ‘Christian’ stance and use every possible guilt maneuver to encourage this good hearted Christian country to open our hearts to the less fortunate. This is a ploy to make all of us less fortunate. There will be many who will fall for this scam under the pretext of Christianity. If we think Christians are media maligned now, just wait! We will be the most hated inmates in the camp!”
Wow! Powerful projections here, right? I’m sure we’ll somehow meet up with Spingola one dayif not in glory, then in some gulag cell contemplating how all of this got out of hand . . . I mean, if Shirley McClain went out on a limb, Spingola’s going out on a twig:
“All of this is done under the facade of protecting us - from terrorists? The worse terrorists we face are those who serve in our government. Another day that shall live in infamy, 9/11, has done much to serve the purposes of those whose main goal is to establish the One World Order. What an opportunistic event! It couldn’t have worked any better if they had planned it!”
O CANADA - VIVA MEXICO - Life is good!
Of course most Americans, Canadians, and Mexicans can’t stomach all of this unification at once; thus, the GREAT TRANSITION awaits us all:
Unified military command? Listen to what the CFR plans for your future:
1. Establish a common security perimeter by 2010.
2. Develop a North American Border Pass with biometric identifiers.
3. Develop a unified border action plan and expand border customs facilities.
The CFR web site is effusive in its sacrifice of sovereignty:
4. Create a single economic space:
5. Adopt a common external tariff.
6. Allow for the seamless movement of goods within North America.
7. Move to full labor mobility between Canada and the U.S.
8. Develop a North American energy strategy that gives greater emphasis to reducing emissions of greenhouse gases - a regional alternative to Kyoto.
Hey, and let’s shoot the gap - listen, we’re talkin’ INTEGRATION BIG TIME . . . and we’re not whistling Dixie (although we might permit that in the new North American Federation of United States as an expression of multiculturalismharkening back to the good ole days when a different form of slavery abounded) . . . so, we might have to:
9. Review those sectors of NAFTA that were excluded.
10. Develop and implement a North American regulatory plan that would include “open skies and open roads” and a unified approach for protecting consumers on food, health, and the environment.
11. Expand temporary worker programs and create a “North American preference” for immigration for citizens of North America.
12. Spread benefits more evenly:
13. Establish a North American Investment Fund to build infrastructure to connect Mexico’s poorer regions in the south to the market to the north.
14. Restructure and reform Mexico’s public finances.
15. Fully develop Mexican energy resources to make greater use of international technology and capital.
16. Institutionalize the partnership:
17. Establish a permanent tribunal for trade and investment disputes.
18. Convene an annual North American summit meeting.
19. Establish a Tri-national Competition Commission to develop a common approach to trade remedies.
20. Expand scholarships to study in the three countries and develop a network of Centers for North American Studies.
CAESAR HAS CROSSED THE RUBICONDOWN WITH THE REPUBLIC!
Now, that doesn’t sound so badin point of fact, we can sort of ease ourselves into this new North American “framework.” Especially enlightening are the PROGRESSIVE comments of people like William F. Weld (another co-chair) former Governor of Massachusetts and U.S. Assistant Attorney General:
“We are three liberal democracies; we are adjacent; we are already intertwined economically; we have a great deal in common historically; culturally, we have a lot to learn from one another.”
Three democracies? Now, let’s not mince words like “Democracy” vs. “Republic” - we all know what we’re talking about here, right? ” . . . and to the Republic for which it stands.” Of course, that’s been turned into a prayerso much for the Republic, and so much for allegiance! Oh well, we weren’t all cracked up to be much of a Republic anyway, right?
CFR’s been around since 1921 and Mexico/Canada duplicated these efforts in 1976 (Mexican Council on Foreign Relations and the Canadian Council of Chief Executives). CFR members frequently address House and Senate meetings who attempt to probe academia at the highest levelsand, of course, the CFR is right up there with the best (if not THE best) of them (you know, big bucks and all). Enter Dr. Robert A. Pastor, V-P, International Affairs Professor/Director, Center for North American Studies American University, speaking on the “Travel Initiative” within the Western Hemisphere.
THE TRAVELING PASTOR–ALL FOR ONE AND ONE FOR AL
Dr. Pastor (fourth Musketeer amongst the three) didn’t have to travel far . . . he simply sat there before the Senate Foreign Relations Subcommittee on Western Hemisphere, Peace Corps and Narcotics Affairs on June 9, 2005 and quoted the CFR’s “Independent Task Force” (May 17, 2005) and their fine efforts to frame a new “Future of North America.”
In sum, Dr. Pastor accused the three nations of “small-mindedness” - and felt that in order to “secure the homeland” we shouldn’t zero in on U.S. interest; instead, let’s stop worrying about our borders with Mexico and Canada and let her rip! Let’s start thinking global here in North America.
First, let’s integrate the economieswe’re well on our way on that one; next, let’s get down socially, especially in light of 9/11 (terror, as in Nazi Germany, is a real catalyst for “positive change”); and, thirdly, let’s forge ahead and go beyond these petty terrorists to a create a massive North American Communityno-holds-bared thinking is needed around this bastion of isolationism! All for one and one for all . . . each benefiting from the other’s success, while avoiding our demise when we concentrate on our problemsthat’s the ticket (whoops, travel-talk; no pun intended).
Pastor’s Center for North American Studies at American University is designed to think dynamically, think hugelet the tide rise and pick us all up! Feel the surge! As a CFR member, Pastor poured praise upon NAFTAno big deal if a few jobs have gone south. In the totality of it all, we all benefit, for is not the dictum we hold these truths to be self-evident that all men are created equal, or is it that some are more equal than others, or that some benefit more than others? Oh, well, we can work out the details later, because the War on Terror trumps all.
Sure, we all might have to work for lower wages and benefits for starters; and we might, if we want to hold up the current social order, work longer hoursbut just think: More of us will be workingDads, Moms, daughters, brothers, etc. And, once in a great while, we’ll be allowed to vacationnot bad, right?
KEEP YOUR EYE ON THE PRIZE: OIL
During the latest round of Russian-American talks between Bush and Putin (this week, Sept. 11-17), the biggie was energy policy: How to secure Russian petroleum over the protestations of the Chinese and Indians? Energynow that’s why the USA-Canada-Mexico deal is absolutely mandatory.
The lion’s share (58%) of our imported oil comes from Canada and Mexico anyway, right? So, isn’t it about time we awoke and smelled the roses? Economically, we’re integrated and America’s insatiable love with the automobile demands that we fully integrate the livin’ tar out of these economies. Canada is our biggest trading partner anyway86% of all Canadian exports go to America, whereas 89% of Mexico’s go northsomehow we consume it all!
“Since the enactment of the North American Free Trade Agreement eight years ago, Mexico has surpassed Japan and has become the United States’ second-largest trading partnerCanada is the biggest. Thanks to the open trading borders, companies in all three countries have been stretching their reach throughout North America.” (Forbes, 2002).
What a difference a little time makes! Yep, ole NAFTA keeps workin’ its wonders. Now, over 40% of U.S. trade with Canada is intra-firm, that is, trade occurring between parts of the same firm operating on both sides of the borderand, that trade totals over $500 billion annually between the two. Insofar as Mexico is concerned, both nations are on line for $300 Billion for 2005! Thus, our little North American Free Trade Agreement is pressing in around $1 Trillion annually, import/export.
Pastor claims that 9/11 actually threatened to cripple “North American long-term integration.” Help me understand the problem, Dr. Pastor. For one little ditty, we went from 3 million illegals in the 1990s to 11 million todaywe’re getting integrated in spite of your rhetoric!
So, the theory goes, Canada is rich in resources (and Mexico’s Gulf Oil too), and Mexico is rich in cheap laborso can’t we all just get along? If we’re getting integrated economically, in any event, maybe we can all enjoy cheaper oil at the pumpssay, by the way, that bridge in Brooklyn is going for half off this weekend only! In conclusioncan’t we all just get along and drive off in our Hummers into Baja’s sunset or up through the Yukon’s wilderness?
NORTHCOM
“For nearly two years now, Ottawa has been quietly negotiating a far-reaching military cooperation agreement, which allows the US Military to cross the border and deploy troops anywhere in Canada, in our provinces, as well station American warships in Canadian territorial waters. This redesign of Canada’s defense system is being discussed behind closed doors, not in Canada, but at the Peterson Air Force base in Colorado, at the headquarters of US Northern Command (NORTHCOM).
“The creation of NORTHCOM announced in April 2002, constitutes a blatant violation of both Canadian and Mexican territorial sovereignty. Defense Secretary Donald Rumsfeld announced unilaterally that US Northern Command would have jurisdiction over the entire North American region. Canada and Mexico were presented with a fait accompli. US Northern Command’s jurisdiction as outlined by the US DoD (Department of Defense) includes, in addition to the continental US, all of Canada, Mexico, as well as portions of the Caribbean, contiguous waters in the Atlantic and Pacific oceans up to 500 miles off the Mexican, US and Canadian coastlines as well as the Canadian Arctic.
“NorthCom’s stated mandate is to ‘provide a necessary focus for [continental] aerospace, land and sea defenses, and critical support for [the] nation’s civil authorities in times of national need.’”
www.sfu.ca/casr/ft-lagasse1.htm
Surprise, surprise! You see, ever since FDR sprung his “attack on Canada is an attack on the USA,” and the Canadians reciprocated in 1938, this little military integration thing has really gotten serious. Maybe you thought NORTHCOM was just for the Canadiansapparently, the only guys squawking about it are them draft dodgers worried about Sam’s long reach. Don’t think we’re talking about a slight modification here for the Canadian Mounted Police and the Mexican Federales . . .
Donald Rumsfeld postured that North America’s geographic command center (smack dab in the Middle of the USA) “is part of the greatest transformation of the Unified Command Plan since its inception in 1947.”
Furthermore, as Army, Air, Naval, and Special Forces integrate, NATO and NORAD’s old frameworks are and will get a complete facelifti.e., you ain’t seen nothin’ yet! To facilitate this shakeup (between the USA and Canada) a Binational Planning Group (BPG) now works in tandem with NORTHCOM (BPG is a mix of US and Canadian officers.). BPG has the following goals:
• to share maritime surveillance and intelligence
• to coordinate binational actions involving military and civil agencies
• to design and conduct joint training programs and exercises.
This means of naval and military integration came about in 2002 through the Canadian Department of National Defence (DND) who initiated the BPG. The BPG’s singular mission is to develop an “Enhanced Canada-US Security Cooperation with the US . . . starting with a simple two-year mandate, the BPG works alongside NorthCom and NORAD in Colorado Springs.”
It won’t be long before the militaries of these alleged sovereign states are fully integrated. In sum, here’s what Americans who’ve just moved to Canada have to look forward to:
“And ultimately what is at stake is that beneath the rhetoric, Canada will cease to function as a Nation . . .

Of Racism
By Punkerslut
Introduction and Statement of Opinion
There are few institutions that are more deplorable than Racism. It is this vice-ridden belief, the belief that a man can be reduced to the color of his skin when his worth is measured, it is this bigotry that has turned men into scoundrels, that has turned people into heartless murderers and slavers. Racism does not count intelligence for a man, nor does it count ignorance against a man; it does not state that affection is to be valued, nor that brutality is to be detested. It states, and it only states, that one particular race is to be valued or judged, that one tone of skin is either divine or satanic, that a person is only worth as much as the type of people he came from. In the history of civilization, it was a vulture preying on the superstitions of people all around the world. Those who conformed to whatever society told them to commonly accepted Racism, just as commonly as those with enough heart to feel have rejected it. This vile institution has profaned the minds of men, it has turned them into monstrous beasts, careless and heartless, brutal and cruel, in their pursuits to cause suffering.
To Racism, there is nothing but race. A man may speak for all that he wishes, may argue for as long as arguments last, but if he is not the right race, the right ethnic background, then there is no difficulty in the question. And it is but one question: is this man a member of our race? Does he have the same skin color? Do his parents have the same skin color as my own parents? Racism is simply a judge of that and nothing else. It is not humane or rational in the slightest bit. It does not ask: is this man humane? Is this man merciful? Is this man accepting? Does he offer his sympathies to those who may suffer?
Racism is blind inhumanity. Without caprice, it will throw responsibility onto that which no man can possibly be responsible for: race. From this one creed, men have committed numerous atrocities. Racists have forced Jews from their homes and barred them from work. They have whipped the flog against the stinging, bleeding flesh of the African human, whose life can be defined as toil and sweat. They decapitated Asians who tried to mine gold. Of every immigant to the United States, they have put coals of fire on their back, much like the coals of fire on their own minds. They have lynched men with a smiling face, cast them out into the streets, smited them and beaten them. With scorn and hate, Racists have committed the contumelies that once were thought to only make up nightmares. That is my opinion of Racism.
Arguments of Racism
—————————
“You are now citizens of many of the States, and in time you will be of all. I am astonished when I think how long it took to abolish the slave, how long it took to abolish slavery in this country. I am also astonished to think that a few years ago magnificent steamers went down the Mississippi freighted with your fathers, mothers, brothers, and sisters, and may be some of you, bound like criminals, separated from wives, from husbands, every human feeling laughed at and outraged, sold like beasts, carried away from homes to work for another, receiving for pay only the marks of the lash upon the naked bark. I am astonished at these things. I hate to think that all this was done under the Constitution of the United States, under the flag of my country, under the wings of the eagle.
“The flag was not then what it is now. It was a mere rag in comparison. The eagle was a buzzard; and the Constitution sanctioned the greatest crime of the world.” — Robert Green Ingersoll, “An Address to the Colored People,” 1867, delivered at Galesburg, Illinois.
—————————
There are those who assert that since someone of a particular race committed a certain crime, therefore the entire race is dedicated to committing such crimes. However, this is flawed reasoning. An individual’s actions can only be representive of their own character, their own morals. An entire race is not a moral agent, just as a society is not and a government is not. Every sole conscious being is their own moral agent. To hold green-eyed people, red-haired people, or black-skinned people responsible for the actions of a very few, select individuals is ludicrous. Yet, even beyond this, there is a bigger justification for Racism. According to certain statistics, more African men are in prison or some correctional phase than European men yet more European men populate the nation. Some may argue against these statistics, but I will not argue against Racism if it is at the cost of truth. From these statistics, one may be quick to conclude that African men have a tendency towards criminal activity. However, this is still flawed reasoning. Consider how many African men were in prison prior to the conclusion of the Civil War in the south. I would be astounded if even one were in prison, as they were all confined to the prison of slavery. With a mixed population of both white and black people, and prisons constituting most white people, it would be equally logical to assume that Europeans had a racial inclination towards criminal activity as it would be to assume today that Africans have a racial inclination towards criminal activity.
However, from an objectively logical standpoint, it would be easy to see that race has little if anything to do with criminal activity. If one were to study Criminology and to understand the reasons why men and women commit crimes, they would understand entirely that the reasons are poverty, opportunity, among other factors that are exhibited in those who commit crimes. Being born of one race does not make any person inclined to commit crimes. Being born of poverty and corruption, being born in a government that holds no respect for your values, these are the aspects that will incline a person to become a criminal. To say that one’s race is important in determining their moral stature is tantamount to saying that one’s hair color or eye color, or any other physical attribute, is important in determining as such. If 90% of the people in prison had birth marks, does that mean we can conclude that individuals with birth marks are bound to be criminals? In fact, we can hypothesize even further beyond that. If 100% of the individuals in prison are human beings, does that mean we can conclude that human beings have criminal tendencies and that they are deviant, cruel beings? As I have stated, a person is not a criminal because of their race, their species, their hair color, their eye color, or any other arbitrary, physical characteristics. An individual becomes a criminal from tendencies that lead them to break the law.
—————————
“Some of the best people I have ever known are Jews, and some of the worst people I have known are Christians. The Christians were not bad simply because they were Christians, neither were the Jews good because they were Jews. A man is far above these badges of faith and race. Good Jews are precisely the same as good Christians, and bad Christians are wonderfully like bad Jews.” — Robert Green Ingersoll, The Jews.
—————————
There are those who argue, however, that by fighting other races, they are preserving their own race. Some claim to get this reasoning from Evolution and the law of Natural Selection. (It is astounding that it has never occurred to them that Evolution is a a scientific observation and not a moral foundation.) Some of them may argue that hate and love go hand in hand, that as much as they love their own race, they hate opposing races. Yet such claims are ridiculous and unreasonable. If I am going to die for preserving something, it will be love, affection, and reverence. Race is unconcerned with any of those things. A person born of any particular DNA is fully capable of becoming an intelligent, active, warm person. Whether or not someone is born of white parents, black parents, red parents, or yellow parents, it is irrelevant. They still all have the same opportunity to excel in life in the particular fields that they wish to choose. For a Racist to argue that they are defending their race, they commit heinous crimes. Not only are they defending something that holds no monopoly on kindness or compassion, but they are launching offenses on those individuals who certainly are capable of suffering, who certainly can feel pain. By lynching those of another race, or tightening immigration, or fostering a hate for those who have a different appearance, Racism works to cause the downfall of unity and certainly defends nothing but the unchosen variable of race.
—————————
“Ex-Governor Atkinson protested against this savagery. He was threatened with death. The good people were helpless. While these lynchers murder the blacks they will destroy their own country. No civilized man wishes to live where the mob is supreme. He does not wish to be governed by murderers.
“Let me say that what I have said is flattery compared with what I feel. When I think of the other lynching — of the poor man mutilated and hanged without the slightest evidence, of the negro who said that these murders would be avenged, and who was brutally murdered for the utterance of a natural feeling — I am utterly at a loss for words.” — Robert Green Ingersoll, Fragments From The Pen of Robert G Ingersoll.
—————————
Still, there are those who draw their arguments from religion and the Bible. Ephesians 6:5, Exodus 21:2-6, Exodus 20-21, and Leviticus 25:44-46, are all verses in the Bible which condone slavery. Racists have used this as an excuse for slavery, to enslave those who are not the same genetically. Slavery is but a cruel institution that works for the small gain of a profiteer and works for the massive destruction of the mind and body of the slave. As I detest slavery, I must detest the Bible, as the later righteously and proudly defends the first. To state that god has given one race the right to enslave another is not revelation. It is hearsay. Even so, if god condoned murder and rape, would any person listen to it? Only the pious and religious would, as their minds have often been restricted to what the church can tell them. To those who are humane and rational, the abuses and manipulative methods of the Bible are only atrocities to mankind. To practice the Bible truthfully is to be inhumane, uncaring, unfeeling, heartless, and brutal. However, the point is made: a god can condone anything, but that holds no foundation on what is right or what is wrong. The religious Racists, some who have “Slavery is of God” as their motto, are combinely ignorant and malicious in ways not seen before. To quote Frederick Douglass, the slave who fled from his plantation, “We have men sold to build churches, women sold to support the gospel, and babes sold to purchase Bibles for the poor heathen, all for the glory of God and the good of souls. The slave auctioneer’s bell and the church-going bell chime in with each other, and the bitter cries of the heart-broken slave are drowned in the religious shouts of his pious master. Revivals of religion and revivals in the slave trade go hand in hand.” [Narrative of the Life of Frederick Douglass, An American Slave, Written by Himself, 1845.]
—————————
“As soon as our ancestors began to get free they began to enslave others. With an inconsistency that defies explanation, they practiced upon others the same outrages that had been perpetrated upon them. As soon as white slavery began to be abolished, black slavery commenced. In this infamous traffic nearly every nation of Europe embarked. Fortunes were quickly realized; the avarice and cupidity of Europe were excited; all ideas of justice were discarded; pity fled from the human breast a few good, brave men recited the horrors of the trade; avarice was deaf; religion refused to hear; the trade went on; the governments of Europe upheld it in the name of commerce — in the name of civilization and religion.” — Robert Green Ingersoll, “Centennial Oration,” 1876.
—————————
One final plea for Racism is to declare that one’s race is superior. That, for some reason or another, one’s race has produced better art, better technology, better government, better literature, better people. After such a declaration is made, one then concludes that one race is better than another. They conclude that a man of one particular skin color holds more worth because of his ancestors, as compared to another man of a different skin color, who holds less worth because of his ancestors. This justification is a fraud. Whether or not someone’s father invented the telephone, it does not give them the right to torture unrelentingly without thought. The inventions and art of past do not give moral justification to anyone to be cruel or inhumane. The inventors and artists have given us their genius so that we may better ourselves, so that we may advance our position in life. To take that for granted and state that is the reason that individuals of a different skin color deserve no freedom or life is a credulous claim. Men, despite the acts of their fathers, can feel just the same, whether their father was Graham Bell or Thomas Edison.
—————————
“The average American, like the average man of any country, has but little imagination. People who speak a different language, or worship some other god, or wear clothing unlike his own, are beyond the horizon of his sympathy. He cares but little or nothing for the sufferings or misfortunes of those who are of a different complexion or of another race. His imagination is not powerful enough to recognize the human being, in spite of peculiarities. Instead of this he looks upon every difference as an evidence of inferiority, and for the inferior he has but little if any feeling. If these “inferior people” claim equal rights be feels insulted, and for the purpose of establishing his own superiority tramples on the rights of the so-called, inferior.” — Robert Green Ingersoll, “Should The Chinese Be Excluded?” 1898.
—————————
Ending
Racism is a profanity in the realm of logic and in the realm of humaneness. It does not endeavor to preserve that which has led us to glory, or will lead us to glory. To affection and kindness, beauty and reverence, it could not care less — it has only one care: race. In this light, it may rightly be called blind injustice. To a white Racist, they would rather have a white rapist than a black philanthropist in their community. To a black Racist, they would rather have a black murderer than a white Humanitarian in their community. Racism does not love virtue or mercy. It only loves race, an unknown variable that holds no control over one’s merits or value. By opposing Racism, one affirms that individuals can attain value and worth, no matter what color their skin. By opposing Racism, one is both rational and humane. And I must oppose Racism, as it has caused countless cruelties across the globe, all for the sake of something so trivial, so unrelentingly unimportant as one’s genetics.

One of the matters often found at the bottom of the list when planning a college education is health insurance for college students. Students are at an age where the idea that they may need health insurance is not the first thing they consider. Let’s face it, in your twenties you will typically believe that you are immortal and you will never develop illness.
Unluckily, no matter how well an individual might seem, there is no guarantee of their continuing good health. Inexpensive health insurance is not simply a luxury, it is utterly essential.
Those individuals fortunate to be covered by their parent’s health insurance are more often than not included up until their 23rd birthday. For those who do not have insurance coverage under a parent’s plan, an essential part in budgeting for going to school will be obtaining an affordable health insurance plan.
What is essential in medical insurance designed specifically for students? What is your deductible? It is a yearly payment that must be made before your health benefits begin, very similar to an auto deductible. To use an illustration, if the deductible is $500, you will have to pay that amount prior to claiming financial benefits linked with the insurance plan. So what exactly does co-pay mean? Once your deductible is covered, almost all insurance policies ask you to contribute a percentage of the cost for every doctor’s visit, medicine or procedure. This is called co-pay.
Precisely what does the medical insurance policy pay for? Nearly all plans include Health Maintenance Organization and PPA. In essence this can mean particular doctors may be omitted from your authorized medical providers and may not be covered by a insurance plan. A directory of approved health professionals should be included with most insurance plans, so ensure to take that into consideration when you choose health insurance.
What exactly is catastrophic health insurance coverage? You should be mindful that there may be a restriction on student health insurance plans as far as critical illnesses, the cover included in most student medical insurance policies is more often than not smaller than a regular plan. What about the limitations? Restrictions are frequent in student health insurance. Be sure to look over your policy and find out what your insurance policy covers. Have any medical insurance papers safe no matter where you travel. It’s not only not possible to plan for accidents or an illness, they’re also likely to hit when you don’t expect them. So make sure you are acquainted with the ins and outs of your low-cost college health insurance policy even should you be included in your family policy.

In a recent report on the status of the Franchising Industry, the Federal Trade Commission knowingly and falsely purported that its Franchise Disclosure Rules are cost effective. In fact; there is nothing inexpensive or “cost-effective” about the 190 to 230 pages of disclosures that franchisors must give to prospective franchisees. Anyone purporting such misrepresentations does so either for personal gain (Lawyer) or out of spite against franchisors due to a misunderstanding of what the franchising model is or how it works.
We see in many industries, for instance real estate, where laws, case laws, regulations have made a simple house purchase turn into a series of forms no less than 400 pages, (it may not look as big in 10pt font and double sided, but it is) and just short of the number of pages in this Federal Trade Commission report. What does all this mean? It means we have further complicated the original reason for such disclosures to the point of absurdity, where each side is so busy trying to CYA, in case of frivolous lawsuits that each side believes they have the right to be irresponsible in their business practices and have no need to fulfill their promises because there is a clause in the contracts and disclosures giving them a way out and behind that way out a lawyer who will be glad to make 2+2 equal 50 if you so desire and have paid the retainer.
It is all a crock, everyone in franchising knows it, no one is willing to say it and the Federal Trade Commission is so busy having meetings with lawyers that they forgot about the original consumer who is not helped in the least by over disclosure as the costs that the franchisors pay in the exorbitant fees to prepare the disclosure documents are passed onto the very consumer that the Federal Trade Commission is claiming they protect. It is total BS to say that such over disclosure helps consumers at all. Just a lie, an excuse for further rule making and minutia piling (BS). Simply helping lawyers to that which they did not earn and do not deserve.
While some might contend that franchise disclosure give vital and pertinent material information to prospective franchisees, such over disclosure hurts that very prospective franchisee if they buy the franchise and become a consumer of franchisor. The extra costs passed on to the consumer are not the only issues to be concerned with, there is also much proprietary information of the franchisor which is in such documents, information such as:
Number of Units expected to be established in the future in various states, Complete set of audited books, complete business structure, name and address and phones numbers of franchisees, often earnings claims which show unit performance by region, etc. all this information makes it really easy for competition to track and crush the fledgling franchisees by establishing stores in those regions and competing with all that information. Information that non-franchised competition do not disclose as they are not regulated in such a manner. This further un-levels the playing field for the franchisee unit and could cause them to go out of business. Thank you FTC. You fine folks at the FTC- “Forgot The Consumer” Again !!! How is it that no one understands this? I see no attorneys discussing these things in their comments? Why? Because the attorneys do not understand the market place and really have no business commenting on the proposed franchise rule changes as they are the ones who have made the modern day franchise model highly unworkable for their own personal gain a fees. The FTC doesn’t get it, the lawyers do not want you to, the consumer doesn’t understand what is happening and the franchisors are drowning in minutia. Wake up. Think on this, debate the topic if you will, but any rational human being with half a brain can see what is happening. Thanks for listening and all the best.
