It’s not exactly fast food. It could take most of the summer to get your salad (which seems to be roughly the speed of most pizza places) but it is well worth the wait. With only the most rudimentary of tools, a little space in the back yards, and some elbow grease, anybody can have a truly fresh salad.
Gardening is a rewarding hobby. Flower growers can see the beauty of their labors all summer long. The vegetable growers also get a great reward. They can hear the fresh crunch of home-grown lettuce and taste the mouth-watering tomato that just came off the vine minutes before you tasted it.
A gardener can grow his own salad, making it as simple or complicated as he would like. As with any salad the first thing he starts with is the lettuce. Any true vegetable aficionado will tell you that there is no such thing as lettuce. The leafy salad staple comes in a variety of tastes, shapes, sizes, and colors. Gardeners can grow iceberg lettuce (the normal kind you find in the grocery store), butterhead, romaine, or countless other lettuces. The produce section of the supermarket generally doesn’t even begin to scratch the surface of the types of lettuces out there. It’s best just to check what grows in your area and plant whatever looks good.
Next on the salad is the tomato - the ripe, red wedges add visual appeal as well as deep flavor. Tomatoes tend to be robust plants and can grow in a variety of climates. Its best to stake them to make sure that the tomatoes do not touch the ground. This can be anything from a simple wooden stake to an elaborate metal cage. Keep an eye on them, though. They’ll sprout up and ripen seemingly overnight. Pick them when they are plump and red, slice them into sections, and enjoy!
To add some extra color to the salad, not to mention some Vitamin A for good eyesight, shave some fresh carrots over the salad, or chop them into round pieces. The carrot is another hearty vegetable. Unlike the tomato, the carrot grows into the ground, thus it grows better in loose soil. When you are ready to make your fresh salad, simply go to the ground and pull out any carrot bigger than your finger. Slice it up and you are ready to eat!
One of the last things to add to a fresh grown salad is a few cucumber slices. Cucumbers are fast-growing plants - most varieties are ready to pick in 2 months. When you are ready for your salad, go to the garden and pull one of these off the vine, clean it, slice it and eat it.
A simple hobby is turned into a delicious salad - with its crisp greens, ripe tomatoes, crunchy carrots, and brisk cucumbers. And they eat their fresh home-grown salads, gardeners can definitely enjoy the fruits … er … vegetables of their labors.

Apple has done it again. Not even two months after they revolutionized the mp3 player market with the iPod nano, and changed the way we think about flash mp3 players, they’ve done it again with the new iPod with video playback.
This new mp3 player is THE must have player for this holiday shopping season.
In With the New
With this player Apple has added a dual color option, so if white just isn’t for you, the iPod Video also comes in a sleek black color. The new design is also super thin, coming in at a full 50% thinner than the original iPod. And of course, to get full function out of the picture viewing and video playing capabilities, the iPod video comes with a new and improved 2.5 inch color screen, 0.5 inches larger than previous models. The new LCD screen is also covered by a hard clear resin, instead of the standard plastic cover. This will protect the screen from scratches and provide a clearer picture view.
The Sizes
With 30GB and 60GB file capacities you can store your entire music collection and have plenty of room to spare! Store all your pictures, download TV shows straight from iTunes and watch them on your commute. With this player you’ll never be wishing you “just had some more space for your files”.
The iPod Gold Standard
Remember, this is an iPod first and foremost. So the picture is superb. The sound is excellent, and has even been improved slightly in this new generation. The navigation is easy and intuitive with the amazing clickwheel. And the organization control is unmatched. Plus you have all the regular extras like calendar, organizer, games, alarm, a newly added lap timer, photo slideshows, and more.
Support for Video Playback
Apple hasn’t just added video capabilities to their player and left it at that. They’ve incorporated new video downloading services into their iTunes store. Download music videos straight to your iPod, or even last weeks episodes of Lost or Desperate Housewives. Hook the iPod up to your TV and play the video files on a larger screen. The transfer quality is even pretty good. Videophiles might want more, but for most of us the display will be just fine. The player even boasts a much improved 20 hour battery life for the 60GB version(15 hours for the 30GB).
Price and Accessories
Sure iPods are more expensive than other mp3 players. But the new 30GB iPod can be purchased for the same price the old 20GB iPod used to be sold for. And this player comes with video and photo support! This is a huge step forward for Apple in making the best mp3 players more accessible to most of us. The only noticeable drawbacks of this player are the lack of some of the usual accessories that come standard with iPods, including the need to purchase an extra AV cable to hook the player up to your television. But these drawbacks are minimal when compared to all the great advancements of this player.
Conclusion
The days when mp3 players only played music files are a thing of the past. The consumer has spoken, and we want our players to not only PLAY music, but to STORE ALL our music. But this isn’t enough either. We want to store and listen to audio books. Store and view our photo albums, and now we want to be able to watch videos. Be it music videos, TV shows, or movies. We want it all, and Apple has delivered. The new Apple iPod video is a must have for anyone in the market for a new mp3 player, and will make an excellent present this holiday season. But if you’re looking for something a little smaller and cheaper, the iPod nano may be a great alternative. Tiny and sleek, this player is great for working out or smaller music collections, for those who want the signature iPod quality.

Nearly every puppy in the world is born with roundworms. This is because the roundworm’s larvae are transmitted from the mother to the puppy while it is still in the womb. A female dog can harbor roundworms in her tissue, often making them immune to dewormings. The roundworms then have the opportunity to emerge during pregnancy through the mother’s bloodstream and infect the unborn puppies. Roundworms can also be transmitted to newborn puppies through the mother’s milk during nursing.
Roundworms are also easily transmitted to humans. Young children are most susceptible because they are always sticking their fingers in their mouths! Roundworms are transmitted to humans and dogs through eggs that are in a dog or puppy’s stool. They can either be ingested through direct eating of the stool or by eating something else that has eaten the stool (the dog eats a bird, mouse, etc. that has eaten the dog’s stool).
Everyone should wash their hands frequently after handling the puppy or dog and make sure that all feces is removed from the yard and disposed of on a daily basis. Most infections in people are mild and cause no symptoms at all. However there have been cases of worms migrating to the liver, brain, and eyes.
Symptoms of roundworms in humans include:
• Anemia
• Appetite Loss
• Difficulty Breathing
• Constipation
• Cough
• Cramping
• Diarrhea
• Fever
• Hives
• Itching
• Nausea
• Chest Pain
• Muscle Pain
• Passing of Worms
• Rash
• Skin Lesions
• Swelling
• Vision Disturbances
• Vomiting
• Weight Loss
Infected puppies can become quite ill and heavy infestations may lead to convulsions and even death. Most puppies that die are around the age of two to three weeks old. Puppies should be wormed at ages 2, 4, 6 and 8 weeks of age. Adult dogs should receive yearly stool samples from their veterinarian to check for worms. Roundworms will look like spaghetti in the puppy’s feces.
Symptoms of roundworms in dogs include:
• Potbelly
• Diarrhea
• Gas
• Vomiting
• Lack of Energy
• Slow Growth Rate
• Dull Coat
• Coughing (if immature roundworms have migrated to the puppy’s lungs)
Some dogs may show some or all of these symptoms while others may show no symptoms at all. When adult roundworms are seen in the dog’s stool this is often because of ongoing disease in the bowel or sometimes because the worm burden had become so great that the worms are crowding each other out.
Treatment of roundworms is not dangerous and is highly effective. Buy your wormers from the vet and give them regularly as instructed. The tablets are not difficult to give if you train your dog to take them in tiny bits of cheese or put them into sweets. The best way to protect your family and dogs from roundworms is through a regular program of both medication and prevention (keeping the yard clean of feces).

The rapture of the Christian is a well known matter among
believers around the world. It is sometimes referred to as the
catching away. Jesus spoke of it in Matthew 24:37-42 But as the
days of Noe were, so shall also the coming of the Son of man be.
For as in the days that were before the flood they were eating
and drinking, and marrying and giving in marriage, until the day
that Noe entered into the ark, And knew not until the flood
came, and took them all away; so shall also the coining of the
Son of man be. Then two shall he in the field; the one shall be
taken. And the other left. Two women shall be grinding at the
mill; the one shall be taken, and the other left.
The Apostle Paul further elucidates the matter by adding to it a
few details that the account in Matthew leaves out. 1
Corinthians 15: 51-52 Behold I show you a mystery; We shall not
all sleep, but we shall all be changed, in a moment, in the
twinkling of an eye, at the last trump: for the trumpet shall
sound, and the dead shall be raised incorruptible, and we shall
be changed.
Like so many other prophecies of the second coming believers
can’t seem to fully agree on this one. The three common views
are what are known as, pre-tribulation, mid- tribulation and
post-tribulation rapture. That all believers dead or alive will
be instantly transformed and carried up to meet the Lord at his
second coming is not the argument. It is only when their going
to be caught up that so puzzles the believer.
Not wanting to add to the confusion I can say that only the
first two views have any possibility of being correct. The main
purpose of Christ’s return is to judge a world that has plunged
into the worship of the devil in the flesh (antichrist) and it
culminates in the pouring out of God’s wrath on the entire
world.
When the pouring out of God’s wrath actually begins in the
course of the antichrist’s reign is extremely hard to pinpoint
with accuracy. But whenever it is we who believe in Christ won’t
be here. The reason this can be said without one shred of doubt
is based on a promise God has made to his children that he will
save them from the wrath to come. The wrath of God is for the
wicked not for his own children. This promise is found in
1Thess.1:10 And to wait for his Son from heaven, whom he raised
from the dead, even Jesus, which delivered us from the wrath to
come.
The idea that we are not removed from the world before God
starts to pour out his wrath, not only flies in the face of this
clear promise but it smacks of absurdity. We would he directly
in the line of fire and only a cursory perusal of God’s
judgments would he enough to see that no one will escape some
damage. In modern warfare that is called, collateral damage, but
even this term would not adequately describe the damages to
almost everything and everyone during God’s judgments.

Have you ever taken a risk? Maybe you stood up to someone that’s been pushing you around, or maybe you tried a new dish at a new restaurant that didn’t look so familiar. There are risks in so many situations that you could take. Did it come out bad, or did you gain from it?
Taking risks is generally a good thing, but if you can decrease your risk without decreasing the reward, you will definitely benefit. This includes with investments. You are taking a risk by investing in a startup company, but you might have a chance to make a lot of money. Still, if you put all your money in that company, you are setting yourself up for a potential disaster.
Diversification is an important and useful principle of investing. To diversify your investments, you simply vary where you put your money. Instead of putting all your money in the stock of one company, you can invest in several companies’ stock, invest in mutual funds, buy bonds, and invest in commodities.
It’s important to take risks. Many people say that they best things that have ever happened for them happened because they took risks. That could be the same for you and it could happen with your investments. The difference is, you want to decrease the risk without decreasing the reward and you must be reasonable.
